TOPIC: DISCIPLES OUT OF THE WILL OF GOD
BIBLE TEXT: From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with Him – John 6 vs 66.
When you show loyalty, is it with all your heart? A true born again Christian follows with everything and not one-leg in and the other out in pleasure and carnality. The disciples of Christ were many at first but only His chosen 12 were willing to submit their lives to Christ sincerely. Many bear the title “Christian” and are proud of it, but are not willing to walk as disciples of Christ sold out to God's will. The pleasures of this world has corrupted many brethren and disciples of Christ who become lustful, then fall into sin and are now spiritually dead in faith.
The above scripture reveals that the gospel truth was hard for them to accept, so they left Jesus Christ. John 14 vs 17 – even the Sprirt of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him”. Many Christians want their will over that of Christ, so they need to be pleased, pampered and satisfied or they get offended at the sermon, the Master, the Minister and just like the disciples mentioned in John 6 vs 66, they willingly walk out of righteousness.
Jesus will let you go when you are offended with the truth and when you hate the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Truth), then your actions demonstrates that you hate God the Father. Just as Christ didn’t force those disciples to return so he won’t force those who reject the ways of truth and discipleship. The judgement awaiting them is going to be very terrible, for ‘Tyre and Sidon will even receive less torment – Luke 10 vs 14.
Prayer: Father, I have derailed out of your way of righteousness, please forgive me, let me know the truth and walk as a disciple of Christ.
Insight: Return back to Jesus Christ quickly while you still have breath in you and ask for mercy as you submit your will to the Lord.
Help me Lord to be a disciple in your Will in Jesus name.
