DATE 27th February, 2023 TOPIC Follow His Spirit LIVING SCRIPTURE John 3:8 KJV The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. As a child of God we must understand the move of God and to walk in this light we need to follow His Spirit. The role of the Holy Spirit in our lives is very significant and valuable. The true sons (children of like heirs with Christ Jesus) are always led by the Spirit of Christ. There are many forces and spirits out there and we must choose whom to follow, either the Holy Spirit or several of the roaming spirits. We see how the church was led by the Holy Spirit into massive revival in Jerusalem on the day of pentecost after receiving the baptism of fire. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD as an expression of gratitude for the visible and invisible works. Thanksgiving is one of the actions that man cannot over render unto God, if possible our daily statements should be surrounded with thanksgiving. When we show our love and appreciation unto the LORD, we truly reveal the state of our hearts, which is where God does His business with. The life of King David is a testimony today because of how he devoted his heart to serve the LORD. Before his fame or kingship he was an addict, hooked on true worship to the King. Young David was a shepherd boy who no one in the community or his family thought much of neither imagined that he could amount to anything in the land of Israel. What eluded them was the fact that David had a deep connection with the LORD who watched over him because he was chosen. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away. We need help and until we admit that we do, we'll be left struggling with life's situations and circumstances. Jesus walked with the Holy Spirit and his engagements was perfect, nothing could hinder his mission or fellowship. In like terms we as children of God must totally depend on the comforter. Apostle Paul lived a life helped by the Holy Spirit and was separated from the rest.
