May 6th – Capsule 6
TOPIC: THE “NOBODIES” OF THE BIBLE
BIBLE TEXT: The Lord has opened my ear …………… Isaiah 50 vs. 5
God can speak to you today through anybody. The question is can you hear Him? Naaman, the commander-in-chief of the Syrian army, was dying of leprosy. Did he want to be healed? Yes! But he wanted it his way. But instead Elisha sent his servant out to say to him. But instead Elisha sent his servant out to say, “Go wash yourself seven times in the Jordan” (2 Kings 5 vs. 10).
But Naaman who didn’t like the Jordan because it was dirty asked “Are there not cleaner rivers? (2 Kings 5 vs. 12). But God wouldn’t accommodate his pride – and HE won’t accommodate yours either.
Naaman received his healing only after he humbled himself and became willing to listen; first to a slave in his kitchen, and then to some regular soldier in his army who said, “If the prophet had told you to do some great things, wouldn’t you have done it?” (2 Kings 5 vs. 13).
Our problem is, if God doesn’t speak to us in a certain familiar way, we won’t receive it. But HE can use anybody to speak to you – a kitchen maid, a waitress, a nameless soldier or somebody you know.
Prayer: Lord give me the grace to be sensitive. Oh Lord, take away every and any deposit of pride out of me in the name of Jesus. Let me hear you O Lord.
Insight: Today be sensitive, be humble, and be willing to hear.
