ARE YOU A SECRET DISCIPLE?

JUNE 6TH –  CAPSULE 6

TOPIC: ARE YOU A SECRET DISCIPLE?

BIBLE TEXT: JOHN 19 VS 38 – After all this, Joseph of Arimathea, a disciple who kept his faith a secret for fear of the Jewish officials, made a request to Pilate for the body of Jesus. Pilate granted his request, and Joseph retrieved the body (The Voice).

The lifestyle of secret disciples who kept their faith in Christ Jesus still exist today, men such as Nicodemus who secretly came for Bible study, night after night to learn the truth from Jesus concerning salvation, redemption and the Holy Spirit in John chapter 3. Nicodemus was popular amongst the Jews and moved in The company of the Pharisees, but realised that he knew nothing when he heard Jesus teach the living Word out in the public, so he craved for such fellowship but was not bold enough until the night hours.

Likewise, Joseph Arimathea, who was also wealthy and popular in the country but because he was afraid of the reaction of the Jews he also followed in secret. These men love Christ just like very other secret lover of Christ, but for fear of their culture, people, religion and allies, they are not seen on our regular services but book secret appointments just to know about Christ the more.

John 19 vs 38 shows an effective role of a secret disciple of Christ. They use their wealth, influence, positions and connections amongst the ruling government to favour the body of Christ, to build churches, to form partners that are not in the books, they are secret contributors and serve in their own capacity, as soon as they hear a need, they don’t wait, they act on it, to ensure comfort and Christ was pleased because they love Him.

Insight: As a secret disciple of Christ, be strong and live for Christ everyday.

Prayer: Dear Father I cast out fear from my life, help me serve You in every privileged capacity in Jesus name.

Capsule One - (WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY?)

May 1st – Capsule 1 TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY? BIBLE TEXT: Let us lay aside every weight and sin which easily beset us … Hebrews 12 vs. 1 You will start getting well when getting well is what matters most to you. Let your desperation drive you beyond concern about the opinions of others. As long as you are more conscious of people than you are of God, you will never get what you need. When Hannah, Samuel’s mother, prayed in the temple, there was so much locked inside her that when she began to pray and pour her heart out, Eli thought she was drunk (see 1 Samuel 1 vs. 13). God is raising up people who will confound us – radical Christians. Like those on the day of Pentecost, they were hungry for God. They will raise the roof to get to Jesus. They had carefully laid plans, and cry like blind Bartimaeus, “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10 vs. 47). When you are blind, all that matters is receiving your sight. When it looks like there’s no way out fo...

THE GRACE OF GOD

Date 📅 26th October, 2022 Topic The Grace of God Living Scripture 1 Corinthians 15:10 KJV But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. The grace of God is very important to everyone both saved and unsaved though as many as believe in Christ Jesus receives of the grace and truth at work in the Lord. This is what sustains us as children of God throughout our lifetime here on earth. God's grace for the world is general but limited and that for His children comes only in Christ Jesus, for as many that want to partake of this kind of grace must be born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit. This brought about the testimony of brother Saul turned Apostle Paul who testified to be the least of all the Apostles and disciples of Christ. He was a persecutor of the gospel a child of Abraham under the common grace but not under the g...
