THE TONGUE

JUNE 8TH – CAPSULE 8

TOPIC: THE TONGUE

BIBLE TEXT: PROVERBS 13 VS 3 – He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

It is wise to watch your tongue in every conversation. Every child of God should desire true wisdom that is from above, for by it God Our Father and Christ Jesus operate in. Wisdom teaches the tongue how to operate, speak and keep silent. A certain man lived many years ago and a preacher came to him and thought he was still in his 60s or 70s and asked how he was able to keep the whole of his teeth and still looking healthy and strong. The man replied I am in my 90s, it was a surprise and a shock to this preacher, the man said I will tell you the secret, many years ago I discovered a scripture from the Word of God and I told the Lord that I will l like Him to keep every part of my body complete and He told me to keep my tongue.

The secret to long life is to control your tongue. Many have failed to control their tongues and have ruined a good relationship, caused sorrow and bitterness on others, betrayed souls and much more. The devil wants to use man against God, just as Job's wife told Job to curse God and die, because life and death lies in the tongue, what you say can either save you or destroy you.

Proverbs 6 vs 2 says ‘then your words may well be the trap that snares you, and your promise may seal your fate. With this verse we are advised to speak with wisdom. They tried to trap Christ Jesus in John 8 vs 1 – 11 concerning the adulterous woman but he kept quiet until He had utterance from the Holy Ghost and wisdom silenced His enemies.

Insight: Use Wisdom today and let your speech be seasoned with salt. Speak wisely.

Prayer: Father, I need your grace and wisdom in my life, help me to control my tongue in Jesus name.

MARY, DID YOU KNOW?

Date - December 19th, 2021 Topic - MARY, DID YOU KNOW? Bible Text - But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” - Luke 1:30-31 If God had asked the women of Israel who wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, every one of them would have raised her hand. If they had known what that privilege would actually involve—becoming pregnant before marriage, enduring terrible gossip, watching helplessly as their Son was mocked, ridiculed, tortured and crucified—those hands would have come down in a hurry. Mary certainly didn’t volunteer for the job. And she was stunned to discover she’d been selected for such an important role. She handled the extraordinary situation with grace and humility. She asked one question to help her understand God’s plan, then agreed to it immediately. God has a plan for each of us. Ours may not be as earth-shattering as Mary’s. Ou...

DO TI NOW

May 11th – Capsule 11 TOPIC : DO IT NOW BIBLE TEXT : Redeeming the time, because the days are evil – Ephesians 5 vs. 16 How many times have you said, “I will do it tomorrow?” sometimes you put somethings off because you don’t think you know enough, can’t do it well enough. The fact is, there is no magic age at which excellence emerges and quality suddenly surfaces. Thomas Jefferson was 33 when he drafted the Declaration of Independence. Charles Dickens was 24 when he began his Pickwick Papers, and 25 when he wrote Oliver Twist. Newton was 24 when he formulated The Law of Gravity. A second danger is to think that creativity and invention belong to the young. Not so! Emmanuel Kant wrote his finest philosophical work at age 74. Verdi at 80 produced crossing the Bar, and Michelangelo completed his greatest work at 87, Moses was 80 when he led God’s people out of Egypt and 120 when he got to Canaan. Seize the day! Redeem the new moments of your life. Because the time and age ...

MAKE PRAYER A LIFESTYLE

JUNE 13TH – CAPSULE 13  TOPIC: MAKE PRAYER A LIFESTYLE  BIBLE TEXT : EXODUS 30 VS 7-8 – Aaron must burn sweet incense on it. Every morning, when he trims the lamps, he must burn incense. When Aaron lights the lamps at sundown, he must burn incense on it. It is to be a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations . Growing in the things of the Lord requires consistency in prayers, in studying God’s word and in obedience to His will. Aaron brother of Moses was the High Priest of Israel who followed a constant divine lifestyle that required him to pray every morning, afternoon and evening hours and during any operations that was required of him. He maintained this lifestyle all the days of his life.  Our Lord Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Father’s will and He was successful because He maintained a constant praying life. The goal ahead is not just for 5 or 10 minutes prayers but for a daily flow of intercessions, supplications and much thanksgi...
