TO BE LIKE JESUS

JUNE 5TH – CAPSULE 5

TOPIC: TO BE LIKE JESUS

BIBLE TEXT: 2 Corinthians 5 vs 20 – So we are ambassadors for Christ,as though God were making appeal through us; we (as Christ's representatives) plead with you on behalf of Christ to be reconciled to God (AMP).

Walking through conception, and delivery shows a process and when the child comes out, he/she looks like either of the parents, likewise, we as children of God having received Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour, we’ve gone through the same process of grace to start living like Christ. It is part of our primary objective to be like Christ in lifestyle, attitude, character and behaviour.

Out there in the world, in your country, your place of work, school or your home, whose representative are you? After your salvation and baptism of the Holy Ghost, are you still living for yourself or for the Lord? To be like Jesus we need to learn who Jesus Christ is, and how He lived on earth, His actions and behaviours. Matthew 11 vs 29 reveals how to be like Jesus – ‘Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me (following Me as My disciple), for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls’ (AMP).

To be like Our Saviour, we must be His disciples and we must pray into our spirits His character, for us to represent Christ well, wherever we go.
Many today by the grace of God are walking and working in His love and will. They live like Christ with compassion, righteous zeal, forgiveness, temperance and more. You can also be like Jesus, it is not impossible. Apostle Paul will say this afterwards, “Be ye followers of me (as an active representative), even as I also am (spirit, soul and body) of Christ.

Insight: Being like Christ, is possible as you pick up your ambassadorial role.

Prayer: I want to be like Jesus here on earth to live for you always and to represent you everywhere.

Capsule One - (WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY?)

May 1st – Capsule 1 TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY? BIBLE TEXT: Let us lay aside every weight and sin which easily beset us … Hebrews 12 vs. 1 You will start getting well when getting well is what matters most to you. Let your desperation drive you beyond concern about the opinions of others. As long as you are more conscious of people than you are of God, you will never get what you need. When Hannah, Samuel’s mother, prayed in the temple, there was so much locked inside her that when she began to pray and pour her heart out, Eli thought she was drunk (see 1 Samuel 1 vs. 13). God is raising up people who will confound us – radical Christians. Like those on the day of Pentecost, they were hungry for God. They will raise the roof to get to Jesus. They had carefully laid plans, and cry like blind Bartimaeus, “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10 vs. 47). When you are blind, all that matters is receiving your sight. When it looks like there’s no way out fo...

DO TI NOW

May 11th – Capsule 11 TOPIC : DO IT NOW BIBLE TEXT : Redeeming the time, because the days are evil – Ephesians 5 vs. 16 How many times have you said, “I will do it tomorrow?” sometimes you put somethings off because you don’t think you know enough, can’t do it well enough. The fact is, there is no magic age at which excellence emerges and quality suddenly surfaces. Thomas Jefferson was 33 when he drafted the Declaration of Independence. Charles Dickens was 24 when he began his Pickwick Papers, and 25 when he wrote Oliver Twist. Newton was 24 when he formulated The Law of Gravity. A second danger is to think that creativity and invention belong to the young. Not so! Emmanuel Kant wrote his finest philosophical work at age 74. Verdi at 80 produced crossing the Bar, and Michelangelo completed his greatest work at 87, Moses was 80 when he led God’s people out of Egypt and 120 when he got to Canaan. Seize the day! Redeem the new moments of your life. Because the time and age ...
