TOPIC: HIS TOUCH AND HIS WORD

BIBLE TEXT: Daniel 10 vs 18 – 19 (Paraphrase) – He touched me and gave me strength …….

What you need today is a touch and a word from God, especially if you are battling sin, sickness or depression.

Daniel sought God with all his heart for an answer, but for three weeks he got nowhere. If that’s where you are today, don’t give up. Things are happening that you don’t know and you don’t fully understand yet. There is a battle going on, and when it is over you are going to come out a winner.

Listen to what the Angel of the Lord told Daniel: “From the first day you set your heart before God, your words were heard. But for twenty-one days, an evil spirit blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the top officers of the heavenly army, came to help me so that I was able to breakthrough” (Daniel 20 vs 12-13, paraphrase).

When God assigns, Satan attacks. Expect it! It may come from a source you least expect, even a family member. Remember Joseph and his brothers? But God has an answer for you today – His touch and His Word – and they can both be found in His presence.

Prayer: O Lord, touch me one more time, I need the touch of the Master and a Word from you Lord to direct me, speak to my heart.

Insight: Take some time today, to get together with Him.

AUGUST 9th - CAPSULE 9 TOPIC: IT RUBS OFF BIBLE TEXT: Exodus 34 vs. 29 – His face glowed from being in the presence of God. You can only talk convincingly about the God you know, the one you’ve spent time with. Any other God belongs in a theology book, and you will have a hard time selling Him. When Moses came down from the mountain, his face shone. He had been in God’s presence, and when you’ve been there it shows in the way you look, the way you walk and talk, the way you treat your family, the way you spend your money and the way you respond to hurting people. It rubs off! Paul Cain says “most of us are as close to God as we want to be”. Think about it “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you” (James 4 vs. 8). How could you possibly be the same when you’ve been with Him? He transforms everything He touches. A mango tree starts from a seed planted in the soil, from a mango fruit. It usually takes weeks or sometimes days for the leaves to grow or sprout and then it takes years before it can produce those edible mango fruits which we all like to chew. Likewise a young child cannot start behaving like a grown man or handling responsibilities automatically.
