TOPIC: TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE

BIBLE TEXT: Acts 5 vs 29 - ….We ought to obey God rather than men.

No matter how timid you are, don’t allow anybody to dominate or direct your life. Get back into the driver's seat and take the wheel, for only you know where God has told you to go!

Too often our actions are dictated not by a sense of purpose, but by a need to please. We care so much about what certain people think, that with every step we take, we are looking over our shoulder to see whether they are smiling or frowning. Hear this clearly: your first responsibility is to please God, not people. In the end, you are accountable to Him alone (Romans 14 vs 12).

Listen, “You shall have no other gods before me” ( Exodus 20 vs 2 NIV). But you say, “I don’t worship idols” You do when you dedicate your life to impressing people, instead of obeying God. But who am I to assert myself? You ask. Who are you not to? As a Child of God, your first responsibility is to please your Father and your second is to live your life to its fullest!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to live to please you.

Insight: Let your actions be guided by a sense of purpose.

You can only talk convincingly about the God you know, the one you’ve spent time with. Any other God belongs in a theology book, and you will have a hard time selling Him. The Kingdom of Heaven was described by our Lord Jesus Christ in various descriptive narratives pointing out the hidden truth in several parables. Heaven contains important life lessons on the purpose of every child of God here on earth and finding it makes the will of God visible to us and achievable here on earth. This morning we see Heaven from the business man perspective, enriching and equipping His own servants with goods that are all profitable. Heaven is real and Christ Jesus only invest in His own servants. God doesn't bless a mess, He works with as many who believes in Christ Jesus His Son who died for the world. God instructs His Son to deposit into every child of His talents that will favor them, show that they are useful and can work with Heaven....
