DO YOU HAVE “CLASS"

AUGUST 2 - CAPSULE 2

TOPIC: DO YOU HAVE “CLASS?”

BIBLE TEXT: 3 JOHN 1 VS 12 – Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone – and even by the truth itself.

When others speak well of you, you’ve got acceptance; but when the truth speaks well of you, you’ve got class! Demetrius had it. Do you? Before you answer, listen to Paul’s words to Timothy, “Set an example ……… in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity ……..give yourself wholly to them so that everyone may see your progress” – 1 Timothy 4 vs. 12 – 15. That’s Class!

Consider these words carefully. Class is just confidence dressed in humility. It keeps its words, its temper and its friends. It has a steady eye, a steady nerve, a steady tongue and a steady habit. It is silent when it has nothing to say, thoughtful when it judges and it is always first to make amends when it is wrong. Class does not run scared, it is sure footed, committed, and handles whatever comes along. Class has a sense of humor, it knows that a good laugh is often the best lubricant for oiling machinery of human relations.

Class never makes excuses. It takes its lumps, learns from its mistakes and become wiser. Class knows that courtesy and good manners are nothing than a series of small sacrifices. It bespeaks an aristocracy that is not dependent on ancestry or money. A blue-blood can be totally without it, while the son of a coal-miner may ooze it out of many pore. Class walks with kings, yet still keep its virtue; talks to crowds, yet still maintain the common touch.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be a good example to my generation.

Insight: Everyone is comfortable with people who have class because they are comfortable with themselves.

MARY, DID YOU KNOW?

Date - December 19th, 2021 Topic - MARY, DID YOU KNOW? Bible Text - But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” - Luke 1:30-31 If God had asked the women of Israel who wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, every one of them would have raised her hand. If they had known what that privilege would actually involve—becoming pregnant before marriage, enduring terrible gossip, watching helplessly as their Son was mocked, ridiculed, tortured and crucified—those hands would have come down in a hurry. Mary certainly didn’t volunteer for the job. And she was stunned to discover she’d been selected for such an important role. She handled the extraordinary situation with grace and humility. She asked one question to help her understand God’s plan, then agreed to it immediately. God has a plan for each of us. Ours may not be as earth-shattering as Mary’s. Ou...

Inside Jesus

DATE 28th June, 2023 TOPIC Inside Jesus LIVING SCRIPTURE John 15:4 KJV Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Inside Jesus Christ the Lamb of God is where we must dwell. Just like a baby is carried in the womb of her mother for months, so must all God's children follow. The anchor scripture reveals that we must abide inside the cleft or riven side of Jesus Christ just as He also dwells inside us. No child of God or minister should ever think that he or she is sufficient or has attained a certain height in Christ Jesus to stand alone or even abide by themselves.  Our productivity of bearing fruits in this world either by evangelism, good deeds, love or any action can only be possible when we are intimate with Christ as He is with us. Without Christ Jesus inside us we cannot or it is impossible to grow spiritually and physically. Inside Christ Jesus contains all life's resources and...

NOW

Date 📅 18th October, 2022 Topic NOW Living Scripture Hebrews 11:1,7 KJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [7] By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. Now we begin to walk in the ways of faith and truth as our fathers in faith and mighty men of old and just as they witnessed the glory of God first hand so shall we if we act now. The perfect example is Noah and the ark, a man of grace and wisdom. The world was stained with disobedience, sinful ways and thick immoralities. And God decided to wipe the inhabitants of the earth with a great flood such as have never been before and even after. The heavens where ready to open the flood gates and the earth to let out her waters. When God spoke to Noah, he acted immediately and finished the ark on time and he eva...
