DON’T QUIT – KEEP PLAYING

AUGUST 31st - CAPSULE 31

TOPIC: DON’T QUIT – KEEP PLAYING

BIBLE TEXT: 2 Corinthians 12 vs. 9 – My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in (your) weakness.

One day, a woman who wanted to encourage her little boy to keep practicing the piano, took him to hear Paderewski play. They sat near the front, and the boy was fascinated by the big grand piano on the stage. While his mother was talking to a friend, she didn’t notice her son slip away. As the house light dimmed and the spotlight hits the piano, she gasped as she saw her son on the piano bench, playing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”. Before she could get to him, Paderewski walked over to the keyboard and sat down beside the boy. Don’t quit, keep playing” – he whispered. Then he reach down with his left hand and began filling in the bass part, and with his right arm he reached around the other side encircling the child, and added a running obbligato. Together, the old master and the child brought the crowd to its feet.

Child of God, no matter how ill-equipped you may feel, the Master has a word for you: “Don’t quit, keep playing”. No matter what you are doing today; raising those children, running that business, pastoring that church, or just trying to be better Christian, don’t quit, keep playing. He will add whatever is needed to turn your efforts into a masterpiece.

Prayer: Lord I pray, give me the grace to keep moving. I refuse to quit, I will keep moving on because I know God will turn things around in my favour in Jesus name.

Insight: Remember, His grace is sufficient for thee.

NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH

Date - December 28th, 2021 Topic - NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH Bible Text - For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 Your parents love you. You may be able to do something that makes them angry, but you will never be able to do anything that makes them stop loving you. Try to imagine this kind of love and then multiply it by infinity. That’s the love that Jesus has for you. That’s the love that God has for you. God made you. He loved you enough to create you. He loved you enough to give you free will. Then he loved you enough to give you his Son. He loved you enough to forgive you for turning away from him. This is an impossible love! This is a love that we may never understand. But we don’t have to understand it. We just have to a...

Breakfast with Jesus

DATE 24th June, 2023 TOPIC Breakfast with Jesus LIVING SCRIPTURE Psalm 65:4 KJV Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. The Psalmist was a peculiar man and one that feared the LORD and walked in the paths of righteousness. In his meditation and Psalms, he learnt to dine with Jesus Christ early and through Psalms, from the 63rd to the 66th, he found a way to breakfast with Jesus. The first contact we should have everyday is Jesus Christ, to receive of His glorious satisfaction early, contentment and to be filled with the goodness and mercy He gives His children daily. When a child eats with his parents there's that joy and peace within, such comfort and full assurance. Jesus Christ always ate with our Heavenly Father while He was here on earth, He sought after the LORD daily and was satisfied with the glory and goodness of the Father. Each...

Forgiveness of Sins

DATE - April 7th, 2022 TOPIC - Forgiveness of Sins BIBLE TEXT - Acts 5:31 AMP God exalted Him to His right hand as Prince and Savior and Deliverer, in order to grant repentance to Israel, and [to grant] forgiveness of sins. Apostle Peter stood tall before the council (Sanhedrin, Jewish High Court) to speak with boldness about a God who Saves and sets free any sinner from the power of sin. As a man who has been shown mercy though a man once filled with sinful ways, the Holy Spirit quickened him through his personal testimony of experiencing true forgiveness of sins before the Jewish High Court. Peter was a local fisherman with no knowledge of the gospel truth, who lived as he pleased. Until he encountered Jesus when Christ was walking by the sea of Galilee and he spotted Simon Peter who was in his boat struggling to catch a few fishes for days. Like many out there today who are living in sin and still struggling to make ends meet, Jesus is passing through that street, area...
