LOOK FOR THE BEST IN OTHERS

AUGUST 30th - CAPSULE 30

TOPIC: LOOK FOR THE BEST IN OTHERS

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 10 vs. 10 – Be careful not to stir up discontent.

Have you ever been around someone who loved to stir things up? It may seem harmless to us, but God has a different view of it. Twenty three thousand of His people died in one day because they murmured against Moses, the manna, the direction God was leading them, and all sorts of things. Never had a people been more protected, privileged or prosperous, but you could not tell it by what they were saying. These murmurs never made it into the promise land. Murmurers never do!

Do you know which church was speaking to when he wrote, “I have confidence in you” – the Corinthians. Amazing! Some of them got drunk at communion, tolerated fornication, doubted the resurrection; and these were only few of their problems. One man said; I read the Book of Corinthians just to get encouraged. I know at least am not doing that badly. But along comes Paul and says, “I have confidence in you. You are full of faith. You come behind in no gift”. He focuses on the positive; he builds on their strengths. A mature Christian always focuses on the strengths and good things in others.

So today, look for the best in others. Listen: You’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on . . . . . . The best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse” (Philippians 4 vs. 8).

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me to see the good in others. Let me not think highly of myself to become blind not to see the best in other people.

Insight: When you look for the good in others – you will find it.

NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH

Date - December 28th, 2021 Topic - NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH Bible Text - For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 Your parents love you. You may be able to do something that makes them angry, but you will never be able to do anything that makes them stop loving you. Try to imagine this kind of love and then multiply it by infinity. That’s the love that Jesus has for you. That’s the love that God has for you. God made you. He loved you enough to create you. He loved you enough to give you free will. Then he loved you enough to give you his Son. He loved you enough to forgive you for turning away from him. This is an impossible love! This is a love that we may never understand. But we don’t have to understand it. We just have to a...

Breakfast with Jesus

DATE 24th June, 2023 TOPIC Breakfast with Jesus LIVING SCRIPTURE Psalm 65:4 KJV Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. The Psalmist was a peculiar man and one that feared the LORD and walked in the paths of righteousness. In his meditation and Psalms, he learnt to dine with Jesus Christ early and through Psalms, from the 63rd to the 66th, he found a way to breakfast with Jesus. The first contact we should have everyday is Jesus Christ, to receive of His glorious satisfaction early, contentment and to be filled with the goodness and mercy He gives His children daily. When a child eats with his parents there's that joy and peace within, such comfort and full assurance. Jesus Christ always ate with our Heavenly Father while He was here on earth, He sought after the LORD daily and was satisfied with the glory and goodness of the Father. Each...

Forgiveness of Sins

DATE - April 7th, 2022 TOPIC - Forgiveness of Sins BIBLE TEXT - Acts 5:31 AMP God exalted Him to His right hand as Prince and Savior and Deliverer, in order to grant repentance to Israel, and [to grant] forgiveness of sins. Apostle Peter stood tall before the council (Sanhedrin, Jewish High Court) to speak with boldness about a God who Saves and sets free any sinner from the power of sin. As a man who has been shown mercy though a man once filled with sinful ways, the Holy Spirit quickened him through his personal testimony of experiencing true forgiveness of sins before the Jewish High Court. Peter was a local fisherman with no knowledge of the gospel truth, who lived as he pleased. Until he encountered Jesus when Christ was walking by the sea of Galilee and he spotted Simon Peter who was in his boat struggling to catch a few fishes for days. Like many out there today who are living in sin and still struggling to make ends meet, Jesus is passing through that street, area...
