The Thronging Crowd

DATE: September 13, 2021

TOPIC: The Thronging Crowd

BIBLE TEXT: Mark 3v9 – And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

Jesus Christ made plans to avoid the thronging crowd before they press, or step on him, or drag his clothing, all in the name of tapping from his anointing. Which majority do without faith! Jesus understood their intents and motives, because many of them came just for sightseeing, some came to see the man from Nazareth, some came to observe and to take gossip back home, while some came with true intentions of hearing the gospel. The crowd was filled with diverse intents of men’s hearts, doubts running through and various kinds of thoughts. The bible reveals to us that Jesus made plans to avoid the excesses of men.

There were several occasions where the crowd actually pressed on him, and yet none of them received anything from him because of their thoughts and perverseness. Save only the woman with the issue of blood, who came with an attractive/magnetic faith, and got the attention of Christ and received her healing miracle. Are you amongst the thronging crowd? Running from one crusade ground to another, yet your life situations remains the same! Christ has been making steady plans to avoid your perverseness and presence. Jesus preached the gospel and expects the people to believe the word of God and not throng him as many do to ministers and servants of God today.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to hear your words and believe to receive from you. I repent from following the thronging crowd.

Insight: Jesus is not attracted to a thronging crowd but to those with faith.

MARY, DID YOU KNOW?

Date - December 19th, 2021 Topic - MARY, DID YOU KNOW? Bible Text - But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” - Luke 1:30-31 If God had asked the women of Israel who wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, every one of them would have raised her hand. If they had known what that privilege would actually involve—becoming pregnant before marriage, enduring terrible gossip, watching helplessly as their Son was mocked, ridiculed, tortured and crucified—those hands would have come down in a hurry. Mary certainly didn’t volunteer for the job. And she was stunned to discover she’d been selected for such an important role. She handled the extraordinary situation with grace and humility. She asked one question to help her understand God’s plan, then agreed to it immediately. God has a plan for each of us. Ours may not be as earth-shattering as Mary’s. Ou...

I Know Him

Date - January 25th, 2022 Topic - I Know Him Bible Tex t - Then [Jesus] asked them, “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”Matthew 16:15-16 How can people describe the ocean when they have not experienced it? How would they explain the waves that crash against the rocks or the shifting of the sand as the tide tugs at the shoreline? Are they able to put into words how the sand feels between their toes or describe the majesty of an endless blue horizon? Until they have taken a dip in the salty, white-frothed ocean, their descriptions would be limited. Perhaps that is why Jesus asked the disciples to define their faith in him on a personal level rather than rely on what others had to say about him. Jesus challenged them to base their definition of who he was on the reality of what they had seen, heard, and experienced about him.  Today, many stand in public platforms and attempt to define Jesus as a good man, a teach...

THINKING GOD’S WAY

JULY 9TH – CAPSULE 9  TOPIC: THINKING GOD’S WAY  BIBLE TEXT: EPHESIANS 4VS23 – Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. How you process information and arrive at conclusions must always be subject to the will of God. Listen, “……….be made new in the attitude of your minds”. When you first start thinking Gods way, it will feel strange to you. It may even feel like a “put-on”. But it’s not. It works like this: you have to  (a). Practice being nice until you automatically become nice.  (b). Practice going to church on Sunday, until going anywhere else seems strange to you.  (c). Practice giving to God until it be comes as natural to you as shopping at the mall.  (d). Practice speaking the truth until even the smallest lie tastes bad in your mouth.  (e). Practice speaking kindness until every cynical, negative word is purged from your vocabulary. Its all a matter of practice! But you ask, “ isn’t that hypocritical – feeling one way and speaking an...
