The Total Christian

DATE: September 6th, 2021

TOPIC: The Total Christian

BIBLE TEXT: II Chronicles 24
vs15 – But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died an hundred and thirty years old.
vs16 – and they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house. (Study II Chron. 22-24)

Jehoiada was a man of God, a priest in the house of the LORD during the days of the kings of Judah and Israel. He was a lover of God and one who walked in righteousness. He helped Joash who was a little boy, saved him from death, trained him to know and walk with God, in fact his parenting and priesthood was excellent in the sight of God. He helped Joash a six year old prince to regain his throne from the wicked and jealous Athaliah that killed his fellow brethren and princes.

The bible noted this clear fact of Jehoiada as a testimony of grace when he died, that this record played to resound in heaven concerning a total/complete Christian. It reads;……… “He had done good in Israel, both toward God, and towards his house”. Are you a complete Christian? One with the fear of God and a family person? This man balanced serving God and house duties both to his wife, his children, his country and his God. There is still hope for us to walk uprightly in our service to God and humanity as a total Christian.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I desire the grace to serve as a complete Christian, to have a testimony of having pleased you and my home.

Insight: A complete christian must live in righteousness and learn to walk in love and total obedience.

MARY, DID YOU KNOW?

Date - December 19th, 2021 Topic - MARY, DID YOU KNOW? Bible Text - But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” - Luke 1:30-31 If God had asked the women of Israel who wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, every one of them would have raised her hand. If they had known what that privilege would actually involve—becoming pregnant before marriage, enduring terrible gossip, watching helplessly as their Son was mocked, ridiculed, tortured and crucified—those hands would have come down in a hurry. Mary certainly didn’t volunteer for the job. And she was stunned to discover she’d been selected for such an important role. She handled the extraordinary situation with grace and humility. She asked one question to help her understand God’s plan, then agreed to it immediately. God has a plan for each of us. Ours may not be as earth-shattering as Mary’s. Ou...

I Know Him

Date - January 25th, 2022 Topic - I Know Him Bible Tex t - Then [Jesus] asked them, “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”Matthew 16:15-16 How can people describe the ocean when they have not experienced it? How would they explain the waves that crash against the rocks or the shifting of the sand as the tide tugs at the shoreline? Are they able to put into words how the sand feels between their toes or describe the majesty of an endless blue horizon? Until they have taken a dip in the salty, white-frothed ocean, their descriptions would be limited. Perhaps that is why Jesus asked the disciples to define their faith in him on a personal level rather than rely on what others had to say about him. Jesus challenged them to base their definition of who he was on the reality of what they had seen, heard, and experienced about him.  Today, many stand in public platforms and attempt to define Jesus as a good man, a teach...

THINKING GOD’S WAY

JULY 9TH – CAPSULE 9  TOPIC: THINKING GOD’S WAY  BIBLE TEXT: EPHESIANS 4VS23 – Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. How you process information and arrive at conclusions must always be subject to the will of God. Listen, “……….be made new in the attitude of your minds”. When you first start thinking Gods way, it will feel strange to you. It may even feel like a “put-on”. But it’s not. It works like this: you have to  (a). Practice being nice until you automatically become nice.  (b). Practice going to church on Sunday, until going anywhere else seems strange to you.  (c). Practice giving to God until it be comes as natural to you as shopping at the mall.  (d). Practice speaking the truth until even the smallest lie tastes bad in your mouth.  (e). Practice speaking kindness until every cynical, negative word is purged from your vocabulary. Its all a matter of practice! But you ask, “ isn’t that hypocritical – feeling one way and speaking an...
