True Religion

TOPIC: True Religion

BIBLE TEXT: James 1vs27 – Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their afflictions and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Religion has many definitions and has caught many hearts into webs of various forms of beliefs, principles, a particular system of faith and worship practiced. But the word of God defines a true religion as one that is pure and not a false/deceitful practice of ignorance. It has to do with holiness from within. It must be undefiled, one void of pollution and corruption and every form of the works of the flesh. (In our minds and hearts). God must acknowledge your charitable works for it to count just like Cornelius in Acts 10, who practiced a true religion and it came up to God as a memorial.

Are you looking out for the poor, the widows, the fatherless and those in affliction? Jesus Christ concerned Himself with these group of people while on earth and had a pure heart towards them for distribution. Out of a pure heart God wants us to obey Him and keep away from the standards of this world. Christ Jesus is coming soon for those who believe in Him and obeys His words and not for those with wrong religious thoughts. Earnestly He seeks a church without spots and wrinkle (stains and things that disfigure our lives before Him).

Remember the word of God says in John 4vs24 …… and they that must worship Him (live for Him) must worship Him in spirit and truth. Without these our pursuits for true religion will be invain.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please forgive my ignorance on what I thought was true religion. From today dear LORD, help me to follow what your word says, in Jesus name.

Insight: Be a doer of God’s word and practice true religion in Christ.

NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH

Date - December 28th, 2021 Topic - NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH Bible Text - For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 Your parents love you. You may be able to do something that makes them angry, but you will never be able to do anything that makes them stop loving you. Try to imagine this kind of love and then multiply it by infinity. That’s the love that Jesus has for you. That’s the love that God has for you. God made you. He loved you enough to create you. He loved you enough to give you free will. Then he loved you enough to give you his Son. He loved you enough to forgive you for turning away from him. This is an impossible love! This is a love that we may never understand. But we don’t have to understand it. We just have to a...

Breakfast with Jesus

DATE 24th June, 2023 TOPIC Breakfast with Jesus LIVING SCRIPTURE Psalm 65:4 KJV Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. The Psalmist was a peculiar man and one that feared the LORD and walked in the paths of righteousness. In his meditation and Psalms, he learnt to dine with Jesus Christ early and through Psalms, from the 63rd to the 66th, he found a way to breakfast with Jesus. The first contact we should have everyday is Jesus Christ, to receive of His glorious satisfaction early, contentment and to be filled with the goodness and mercy He gives His children daily. When a child eats with his parents there's that joy and peace within, such comfort and full assurance. Jesus Christ always ate with our Heavenly Father while He was here on earth, He sought after the LORD daily and was satisfied with the glory and goodness of the Father. Each...

Forgiveness of Sins

DATE - April 7th, 2022 TOPIC - Forgiveness of Sins BIBLE TEXT - Acts 5:31 AMP God exalted Him to His right hand as Prince and Savior and Deliverer, in order to grant repentance to Israel, and [to grant] forgiveness of sins. Apostle Peter stood tall before the council (Sanhedrin, Jewish High Court) to speak with boldness about a God who Saves and sets free any sinner from the power of sin. As a man who has been shown mercy though a man once filled with sinful ways, the Holy Spirit quickened him through his personal testimony of experiencing true forgiveness of sins before the Jewish High Court. Peter was a local fisherman with no knowledge of the gospel truth, who lived as he pleased. Until he encountered Jesus when Christ was walking by the sea of Galilee and he spotted Simon Peter who was in his boat struggling to catch a few fishes for days. Like many out there today who are living in sin and still struggling to make ends meet, Jesus is passing through that street, area...
