CONQUEROR OF DEATH

DATE: OCTOBER 30th, 2021

TOPIC: CONQUEROR OF DEATH

BIBLE TEXT: But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. - 1 Corinthians 15:20-23

Mark 5:21-43 tells the story of a man named Jairus whose daughter had died. He asked Jesus for help. Jesus told the mourners who had gathered that the girl wasn’t dead but was merely sleeping. The mourners laughed at him. Jesus took the girl by the hand and told her to get up. She got up. The mourners stopped laughing.

Jesus showed his ultimate power over death three days after his crucifixion. His heart, which had stopped beating, started again. His lungs, which had stopped breathing, filled with air. His eyes, which had been closed, opened. His muscles, which had stopped working, regained their power. His enemies, who thought they’d gotten rid of him for good, and his followers, who thought they’d lost him forever, were all in for the surprise of their lives.

Jesus conquered death once and for all through his resurrection. But that’s not all he did. He also blazed a trail for everyone who follows him. The apostle Paul tells us that Jesus will raise everyone who has died. If we believe in him, death ultimately can have no power over us.

PRAYER
Dear God, thank you for sending your Son to defeat death once and for all. Help us remember that death can have no power over us. Amen.

INSIGHT
You are also a conqueror in Christ Jesus

FELLOWSHIP

Date 📅 24th November, 2022 Topic Fellowship (koinonia) Living Scripture Matthew 18:20 KJV For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Wherever believers are gathered in the name of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, there the Lord comes to fellowship. In heaven the celestials cease not to give due worship to God and the LAMB of God, it's a constant tradition of divine communion and fellowship. It is not every gathering that men calls Jesus Christ that he attends, the scripture states that these candidates for fellowship must be in the name of Jesus Christ. They must be saved to even think of gathering for the purpose of intimacy and fellowship. Two thieves were hung up on the cross with the person of Christ, but only one that repented and believed in the Kingdom of Heaven and Christ, that received attention from Jesus. To gather in fellowship with the Lord as a family this morning, we must all be in Him. Our devotion will not be c...

Capsule One - (WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY?)

May 1st – Capsule 1 TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY? BIBLE TEXT: Let us lay aside every weight and sin which easily beset us … Hebrews 12 vs. 1 You will start getting well when getting well is what matters most to you. Let your desperation drive you beyond concern about the opinions of others. As long as you are more conscious of people than you are of God, you will never get what you need. When Hannah, Samuel’s mother, prayed in the temple, there was so much locked inside her that when she began to pray and pour her heart out, Eli thought she was drunk (see 1 Samuel 1 vs. 13). God is raising up people who will confound us – radical Christians. Like those on the day of Pentecost, they were hungry for God. They will raise the roof to get to Jesus. They had carefully laid plans, and cry like blind Bartimaeus, “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10 vs. 47). When you are blind, all that matters is receiving your sight. When it looks like there’s no way out fo...

The Price Is Never Right

DATE July 15th, 2022 TOPIC The Price Is Never Right BIBLE TEXT Proverbs 19:11 TPT A wise person demonstrates patience, for mercy means holding your tongue. When you are insulted, be quick to forgive and forget it, for you are virtuous when you overlook an offense. When we place an item on a scale, it is the moment of truth, whether we are measuring fruit, a bouncing baby, precious metals, or our own body weight. The scales measure loss or gain with unflinching accuracy. How do we weigh the value of self-control? It might be measured by calculating the losses. What is the cost when we unleash anger without restraint? Self-control is the act of hesitating and counting the cost before we speak a word or carry out an action. How many times have we fallen at the Savior’s feet and asked him to cover our shortcomings with his grace? Each time he has forgiven us and brought us back into fellowship with him. Counting other’s wrongs seems natural—until we measure them against our own...
