THE WORD MADE FLESH

Topic - THE WORD MADE FLESH

Bible Text - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. - John 1:1

God’s written Word has been around since humans have been alive. When God spoke to his people, they wrote it down and passed it on to others. When God did something amazing, they wrote that down too. The written Word got bigger and bigger. People taught their children from its pages. They changed their lives based on what it said.

They debated over which parts were most significant and put them together to form Scripture, God’s written Word. The Old Testament, God’s Word, served as mankind’s primary source for knowing God—until Jesus came and the Word became flesh.

Jesus is the Word of God. Everything he said came from God. Every miracle he performed told us something more about God. God’s Word came alive—literally. Jesus gave us new words and made us rethink old ones. The Word was fresh, exciting, unpredictable and life-changing. Jesus taught us to live according to the Word.

Let’s remember that God’s Word is still as fresh, exciting, unpredictable and life-changing as it was to the people who encountered Jesus over two thousand years ago.

Jesus lives in our hearts. His Holy Spirit speaks to us through our conscience. That’s how we can live according to his Word today.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us your Word in the flesh. Thank you for the life Jesus led and the things he taught. Guide us as we attempt to follow his example. Amen.

INSIGHT
His words will surely come to pass.

MARY, DID YOU KNOW?

Date - December 19th, 2021 Topic - MARY, DID YOU KNOW? Bible Text - But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” - Luke 1:30-31 If God had asked the women of Israel who wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, every one of them would have raised her hand. If they had known what that privilege would actually involve—becoming pregnant before marriage, enduring terrible gossip, watching helplessly as their Son was mocked, ridiculed, tortured and crucified—those hands would have come down in a hurry. Mary certainly didn’t volunteer for the job. And she was stunned to discover she’d been selected for such an important role. She handled the extraordinary situation with grace and humility. She asked one question to help her understand God’s plan, then agreed to it immediately. God has a plan for each of us. Ours may not be as earth-shattering as Mary’s. Ou...

I Know Him

Date - January 25th, 2022 Topic - I Know Him Bible Tex t - Then [Jesus] asked them, “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”Matthew 16:15-16 How can people describe the ocean when they have not experienced it? How would they explain the waves that crash against the rocks or the shifting of the sand as the tide tugs at the shoreline? Are they able to put into words how the sand feels between their toes or describe the majesty of an endless blue horizon? Until they have taken a dip in the salty, white-frothed ocean, their descriptions would be limited. Perhaps that is why Jesus asked the disciples to define their faith in him on a personal level rather than rely on what others had to say about him. Jesus challenged them to base their definition of who he was on the reality of what they had seen, heard, and experienced about him.  Today, many stand in public platforms and attempt to define Jesus as a good man, a teach...

Inside Jesus

DATE 28th June, 2023 TOPIC Inside Jesus LIVING SCRIPTURE John 15:4 KJV Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Inside Jesus Christ the Lamb of God is where we must dwell. Just like a baby is carried in the womb of her mother for months, so must all God's children follow. The anchor scripture reveals that we must abide inside the cleft or riven side of Jesus Christ just as He also dwells inside us. No child of God or minister should ever think that he or she is sufficient or has attained a certain height in Christ Jesus to stand alone or even abide by themselves.  Our productivity of bearing fruits in this world either by evangelism, good deeds, love or any action can only be possible when we are intimate with Christ as He is with us. Without Christ Jesus inside us we cannot or it is impossible to grow spiritually and physically. Inside Christ Jesus contains all life's resources and...
