Topic - ROOTED IN CHRIST
Bible Text - For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. - Romans 12:3-5
God wants us to have a true understanding of our self-worth, but he doesn’t want us to be arrogant. Arrogance will separate us from God. We are not to depend on ourselves. We are to depend on God. True self-esteem is rooted in sincere humility.
When we recognize our own weaknesses, we can draw on God’s immeasurable strength. This strength becomes a part of who we are. And God’s strength is a well that never runs dry.
In order to draw from this well, we must be rooted in Christ. We must get to know who we are in him. Just as our bodies are made up of many parts, we are one part of the body of Christ. We are a uniquely and intentionally designed part of the body of Christ.
There is a thrill in finding out who you are in Christ. There is excitement in discovering what God has in store for you. You probably can’t even imagine what he has planned for you. But if you center your life on your relationship with him, you will soon find out. Prepare to be amazed.
PRAYER
