THE LAMB OF GOD

Topic - THE LAMB OF GOD

Bible Text - I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. - Revelation 21:22

The idea of the Messiah being the Lamb of God goes way back to before Jesus was born. The Old Testament prophet Isaiah said, “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth” (Isaiah 53:7). Like a lamb, Jesus appears meek, humble and willing to submit to God’s will. But in order to fully understand why Jesus is called a lamb, we need to look at the way things were in Old Testament times.

Before the Savior came, people had to atone for their sins by making sacrifices, usually using animals. Not just any animal would do for a sacrifice, though. It had to be a male without defect (see Leviticus 1:3), the firstborn of the flock or herd (see Numbers 18:15) and without any broken bones (see Exodus 12:46).

Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice, fits all those descriptions. He is male, without defect (or sin) and the firstborn of God. And even though he was crucified, none of his bones were broken (see John 19:36). He is the Lamb of God, and his sacrifice makes it possible for us to live forever.

PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank you for humbling yourself to become the sacrificial Lamb for us. You are perfect. No other sacrifice can save us. We will praise you forever. Amen.

INSIGHT
He alone is the worthy sacrifice.

NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH

Date - December 28th, 2021 Topic - NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH Bible Text - For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 Your parents love you. You may be able to do something that makes them angry, but you will never be able to do anything that makes them stop loving you. Try to imagine this kind of love and then multiply it by infinity. That’s the love that Jesus has for you. That’s the love that God has for you. God made you. He loved you enough to create you. He loved you enough to give you free will. Then he loved you enough to give you his Son. He loved you enough to forgive you for turning away from him. This is an impossible love! This is a love that we may never understand. But we don’t have to understand it. We just have to a...

Looking for the easy way is looking for death, it is an invitation to false spirits that corrupts and pollutes. Let us seek to know the true path that leads to life and life in...

PECULIAR PEOPLE

Date 📅 31st August, 2022 Topic Peculiar People  Living Scripture 1 Peter 2:9 KJV But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: In the beginning God the Father was and is and is to come for a particular kind of people as He once did with Adam and eve in Eden. He created the heavens and the earth and everything that lives and breathes. And by the power of His Word He made man in His own image and likeness. Therefore man was made right from the beginning to be peculiar and fit for the glory of God. There was no plan in God's holy palm to reduce man to a pauper, it was our sinful ways and disobedience that caused us to fall short of this beautiful inheritance our first father once partook of. A peculiar People stands different, out of the ordinary, unusual and unpredictable from a specific clan or place. The scripture reads t...
