Jesus, Friend of Sinners

TOPIC - Jesus, Friend of Sinners

BIBLE TEXT - Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call sinners to turn from their sins, not to spend my time with those who think they are already good enough.” - Luke 5:31-32

Isn’t it great that our lives don’t have to be fixed up, patched up, and cleaned up to have a relationship with Jesus? He came to call people who were broken and needy and whose lives were a mess to turn from their sins. He didn’t have time for the self-righteous Pharisees, who thought they were already good enough and had no need of what he offered: a brand-new life and salvation from their sins. He was reaching out to those who were humble enough to honestly admit their need.

When Christ calls us out of darkness into his marvelous light, he wants us to tell others that there is hope for them. If a great doctor’s skills had healed us of a life-threatening illness, we wouldn’t fail to share the source of our health and the name of the doctor with those who are still suffering. We have a great physician, a savior who has transformed and healed our lives. Ask God to give you his heart to see people set free from their sins and sorrows and to renew your desire to tell others of his life-changing power. Then be his willing vessel to a waiting world, the largest intensive-care unit in the universe where Jesus Christ is Lord.

PRAYER
LORD, thank you for shedding your light on my life to show me that I needed you, the Great Physician, to heal my woundedness. Thank you for calling me to repent and to come to you and for your tender mercies in my life. Jesus, give me your heart for those who are hurting, sick, and lost in sin, just as your heart reached out to me in my time of greatest need.

INSIGHT
God expects of us only what he has himself first supplied. He is quick to mark every simple effort to please him, and just as quick to overlook imperfections when he knows we meant to do his will.

Capsule One - (WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY?)

May 1st – Capsule 1 TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY? BIBLE TEXT: Let us lay aside every weight and sin which easily beset us … Hebrews 12 vs. 1 You will start getting well when getting well is what matters most to you. Let your desperation drive you beyond concern about the opinions of others. As long as you are more conscious of people than you are of God, you will never get what you need. When Hannah, Samuel’s mother, prayed in the temple, there was so much locked inside her that when she began to pray and pour her heart out, Eli thought she was drunk (see 1 Samuel 1 vs. 13). God is raising up people who will confound us – radical Christians. Like those on the day of Pentecost, they were hungry for God. They will raise the roof to get to Jesus. They had carefully laid plans, and cry like blind Bartimaeus, “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10 vs. 47). When you are blind, all that matters is receiving your sight. When it looks like there’s no way out fo...

No Weakness In Heaven

Date 📅 14th October, 2022 Topic No Weakness In Heaven Living Scripture Matthew 5:48 KJV Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Heaven is a place to dream about, a place where our Heavenly Father dwells. It is not the skies we see or the galaxy of wide space we watch on the satellite and internet. The Bible records that Heaven is God's throne, a place where there are innumerable hosts of angels serving the LORD. There's no weakness in God's presence, for His glory and power radiates through the whole existence. Every biblical angel as described are very powerful and well coordinated. So is everyone born of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ came from Heaven and taught us what Heaven is like. And all the illustrations given in the four gospel of Christ were full of maturity and perfection. God wants us to be like Him that's why we are made in His image and glory though resident here on earth but of the commonwealth of Heaven. Wit...

FELLOWSHIP

Date 📅 24th November, 2022 Topic Fellowship (koinonia) Living Scripture Matthew 18:20 KJV For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Wherever believers are gathered in the name of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, there the Lord comes to fellowship. In heaven the celestials cease not to give due worship to God and the LAMB of God, it's a constant tradition of divine communion and fellowship. It is not every gathering that men calls Jesus Christ that he attends, the scripture states that these candidates for fellowship must be in the name of Jesus Christ. They must be saved to even think of gathering for the purpose of intimacy and fellowship. Two thieves were hung up on the cross with the person of Christ, but only one that repented and believed in the Kingdom of Heaven and Christ, that received attention from Jesus. To gather in fellowship with the Lord as a family this morning, we must all be in Him. Our devotion will not be c...
