Impossible Odds

TOPIC - Impossible Odds

BIBLE TEXT - The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength. Therefore, tell the people, ‘Whoever is timid or afraid may leave and go home.’” Twenty-two thousand of them went home, leaving only ten thousand who were willing to fight. But the Lord told Gideon, “There are still too many! Bring them down to the spring, and I will sort out who will go with you and who will not.” - Judges 7:2-4

The odds were against Gideon’s winning the war. He had only thirty-two thousand men. The Midianites— the enemy—were as numerous as locusts. Imagine Gideon’s surprise when God asked him to whittle down his army by twenty-two thousand. Surely winning was impossible! But God tested Gideon’s faith even further by asking him to use only the men who lapped up water like dogs.

Now only three hundred men remained. Later that night the small group of warriors encircled the enemy’s camp. In one accord they broke their clay jars holding torches, and light flooded the night. They blew their ram’s horns and shouted and watched in amazement as the enemy defeated itself without a single casualty in Gideon’s army! Without a doubt Gideon and his men understood that God was with them even when it seemed there was no way out.

When you face overwhelming circumstances, you are in a perfect position for God to intervene on your behalf. It is in those times that, like Gideon, you learn to trust God and discover that he is always with you, even when you face impossible odds.

PRAYER
HEAVENLY FATHER, when I am in a battle, you shine in the midst of that battle. When I am unsure about which direction to turn, you give me wisdom. When I need advice, I can listen for your voice. Many times I have felt there was no way out, only to discover that you were making a way for me. You give me victory when it seems impossible. Thank you for being my warrior!

INSIGHT
When the odds are against you, don't worry God is with you.

IT RUBS OFF

AUGUST 9th - CAPSULE 9 TOPIC: IT RUBS OFF BIBLE TEXT: Exodus 34 vs. 29 – His face glowed from being in the presence of God. You can only talk convincingly about the God you know, the one you’ve spent time with. Any other God belongs in a theology book, and you will have a hard time selling Him. When Moses came down from the mountain, his face shone. He had been in God’s presence, and when you’ve been there it shows in the way you look, the way you walk and talk, the way you treat your family, the way you spend your money and the way you respond to hurting people. It rubs off!   Paul Cain says “most of us are as close to God as we want to be”. Think about it “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you” (James 4 vs. 8). How could you possibly be the same when you’ve been with Him? He transforms everything He touches. Listen – He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91 vs. 1). He didn’t say “visit” or...

Heaven

Date 📅 25th November, 2022 Topic Heaven (Trading Talents) Living Scripture Matthew 25:14 KJV For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. The Kingdom of Heaven was described by our Lord Jesus Christ in various descriptive narratives pointing out the hidden truth in several parables. Heaven contains important life lessons on the purpose of every child of God here on earth and finding it makes the will of God visible to us and achievable here on earth. This morning we see Heaven from the business man perspective, enriching and equipping His own servants with goods that are all profitable. Heaven is real and Christ Jesus only invest in His own servants. God doesn't bless a mess, He works with as many who believes in Christ Jesus His Son who died for the world. God instructs His Son to deposit into every child of His talents that will favor them, show that they are useful and can work with Heaven....

The Narrow Path

DATE : September 12, 2021 TOPIC : The Narrow Path BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 7v13&14 – Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. The road to eternity is a narrow path, with a single choice. There are no alternatives into eternity. It is either you walk through the narrow way into heaven or you follow the broad path that leads men (souls) to hell fire. God sent His only Son to die for mankind, creating the way, the truth and the life, to all who believe in Christ Jesus. It is either you make a choice to follow Jesus or you walk straight into hell. Many are searching for this path in the wrong direction, places, traditions, customs, beliefs and religions but cannot find it there. Only those that hear about the Kingdom of Heaven coming soon and believe in Jesus Christ shal...
