TOPIC - A Gift of Peace

BIBLE TEXT - [Jesus said,] “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn’t like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” - John 14:27

Jesus knew that as long as we live on planet Earth, there will be things that can disturb our peace and cause us to be troubled or afraid. All we have to do is turn on the news or open a newspaper to see countless reasons for us to be troubled. Remember the scares related to Covid-19, and Ebola, and mad-cow disease? violence, terrorism, and the threat of biochemical warfare? The hormones doctors thought would protect women’s hearts have been shown not to do so. Food is tainted with pesticides. It’s easy to see that this world and its circumstances won’t give us the peace our hearts long for.

But we don’t have to live in a state of despair. Jesus has left us with a great gift—peace of mind and heart right in the middle of this troubled world. It doesn’t come from positive thinking or repeating affirming mantras but from the person of Jesus Christ, who said, “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). We can enter into his peace because he has already provided a way through the Cross. When troubled or happy embrace the warmth of the holy scripture and seek comfort from the voice of God.

PRAYER
JESUS, thank you for the peace of mind and heart that you provide for me. In the midst of my circumstances, I want to receive your peace for my life. I love you for overcoming the world through your work on the cross. Help me to keep my eyes fixed firmly on you and to enter into your peace.

INSIGHT
A great many people are trying to make peace, but that has already been done. God has not left it for us to do; all we have to do is to enter into it through faith in Christ Jesus.

Capsule One - (WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY?)

May 1st – Capsule 1 TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY? BIBLE TEXT: Let us lay aside every weight and sin which easily beset us … Hebrews 12 vs. 1 You will start getting well when getting well is what matters most to you. Let your desperation drive you beyond concern about the opinions of others. As long as you are more conscious of people than you are of God, you will never get what you need. When Hannah, Samuel’s mother, prayed in the temple, there was so much locked inside her that when she began to pray and pour her heart out, Eli thought she was drunk (see 1 Samuel 1 vs. 13). God is raising up people who will confound us – radical Christians. Like those on the day of Pentecost, they were hungry for God. They will raise the roof to get to Jesus. They had carefully laid plans, and cry like blind Bartimaeus, “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10 vs. 47). When you are blind, all that matters is receiving your sight. When it looks like there’s no way out fo...

Sinner to Saint

Date 📅 20th October, 2022 Topic Sinner to Saint Living Scripture Romans 3:23 KJV For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; The journey of our convertion and transfiguration started when we decided to let go of our self and old ways and tune into the will of God by accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. Our Lord Jesus Christ is in the business of turning sinners to saints. Because of the fall of man from the beginning it was written that all mankind have sinned and come short of the supply of God's mighty glory. Which is why Christ Jesus died that we might be heirs and like heirs with Him in the kingdom of God. Without Jesus no one can be saved, all men without the knowledge and salvation of Christ are sinners. No man was born a saint, we are washed from stains, sins and disobedience into saints (children of God). The Bible is not full of men born as saints but rather men and women washed by the Blood of the Lamb of God and by the Word of God. Father Abrah...

DO TI NOW

May 11th – Capsule 11 TOPIC : DO IT NOW BIBLE TEXT : Redeeming the time, because the days are evil – Ephesians 5 vs. 16 How many times have you said, “I will do it tomorrow?” sometimes you put somethings off because you don’t think you know enough, can’t do it well enough. The fact is, there is no magic age at which excellence emerges and quality suddenly surfaces. Thomas Jefferson was 33 when he drafted the Declaration of Independence. Charles Dickens was 24 when he began his Pickwick Papers, and 25 when he wrote Oliver Twist. Newton was 24 when he formulated The Law of Gravity. A second danger is to think that creativity and invention belong to the young. Not so! Emmanuel Kant wrote his finest philosophical work at age 74. Verdi at 80 produced crossing the Bar, and Michelangelo completed his greatest work at 87, Moses was 80 when he led God’s people out of Egypt and 120 when he got to Canaan. Seize the day! Redeem the new moments of your life. Because the time and age ...
