A Prayer for Unity

TOPIC - A Prayer for Unity

BIBLE TEXT - [Jesus said,] “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me because of their testimony. My prayer for all of them is that they will be one, just as you and I are one, Father—that just as you are in me and I am in you, so they will be in us, and the world will believe you sent me.” - John 17:20-21

Many Christians believe that chapter 17 of John’s Gospel is the most significant collection of words and the most important prayers recorded in human history. Here we see a clear verbal demonstration of the heart of Christ only a few short hours before he poured out his heart physically. In verse 13 Jesus himself tells us that the reason for his praying aloud before his disciples was, “so they would be filled with my joy.”

In these verses the Lord expressed his prayer for unity in love and purpose, not only for his disciples but also for us and every future believer. Centuries before we were born, the Lord was carrying us to the throne of grace so that we could be one with each other and with him, just as he and the Father are one. We can enter into the prayer of Jesus as we ask God to accomplish this in our lives.

PRAYER
TODAY, LORD, I pray for unity with family members, with other believers, and with all who know you. May we be one with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. May our unity show the world, Jesus, that you came from the Father, and may others be drawn to you and experience your love.

INSIGHT
Prayer is the one prime, eternal condition by which the Father is pledged to put the Son in possession of the world. Christ prays through his people. Had there been importunate, universal and continuous prayer by God’s people, long ere this the earth had been possessed for Christ.

MARY, DID YOU KNOW?

Date - December 19th, 2021 Topic - MARY, DID YOU KNOW? Bible Text - But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” - Luke 1:30-31 If God had asked the women of Israel who wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, every one of them would have raised her hand. If they had known what that privilege would actually involve—becoming pregnant before marriage, enduring terrible gossip, watching helplessly as their Son was mocked, ridiculed, tortured and crucified—those hands would have come down in a hurry. Mary certainly didn’t volunteer for the job. And she was stunned to discover she’d been selected for such an important role. She handled the extraordinary situation with grace and humility. She asked one question to help her understand God’s plan, then agreed to it immediately. God has a plan for each of us. Ours may not be as earth-shattering as Mary’s. Ou...

NOW

Date 📅 18th October, 2022 Topic NOW Living Scripture Hebrews 11:1,7 KJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [7] By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. Now we begin to walk in the ways of faith and truth as our fathers in faith and mighty men of old and just as they witnessed the glory of God first hand so shall we if we act now. The perfect example is Noah and the ark, a man of grace and wisdom. The world was stained with disobedience, sinful ways and thick immoralities. And God decided to wipe the inhabitants of the earth with a great flood such as have never been before and even after. The heavens where ready to open the flood gates and the earth to let out her waters. When God spoke to Noah, he acted immediately and finished the ark on time and he eva...

MAKE PRAYER A LIFESTYLE

JUNE 13TH – CAPSULE 13  TOPIC: MAKE PRAYER A LIFESTYLE  BIBLE TEXT : EXODUS 30 VS 7-8 – Aaron must burn sweet incense on it. Every morning, when he trims the lamps, he must burn incense. When Aaron lights the lamps at sundown, he must burn incense on it. It is to be a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations . Growing in the things of the Lord requires consistency in prayers, in studying God’s word and in obedience to His will. Aaron brother of Moses was the High Priest of Israel who followed a constant divine lifestyle that required him to pray every morning, afternoon and evening hours and during any operations that was required of him. He maintained this lifestyle all the days of his life.  Our Lord Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Father’s will and He was successful because He maintained a constant praying life. The goal ahead is not just for 5 or 10 minutes prayers but for a daily flow of intercessions, supplications and much thanksgi...
