TOPIC - All for God’s Glory

BIBLE TEXT - [Jesus said,] “All those who want to be my disciples must come and follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And if they follow me, the Father will honor them. Now my soul is deeply troubled. Should I pray, ‘Father, save me from what lies ahead’? But that is the very reason why I came! Father, bring glory to your name.” - John 12:26-28

Often when our souls are troubled and problems abound, we tend to pray prayers such as, “Lord, fix this situation so I won’t have to suffer or have problems! Make everything go smoothly in my life! Please remove the obstacles I’m facing today!” But Jesus, in view of his impending suffering and death, aligned himself with the Father’s purposes. While he prayed in Gethsemane, it was only natural for him to ask that if it were possible, he might not need to face the unspeakable torment that was to come. But his greater priority was not his own comfort; it was doing his Father’s will and agreeing to what would bring glory to his name.

With Christ as our example, we who follow the Lord are to do the same in our difficulties. We are to align ourselves with God’s purposes, commit to seeing them through whatever the cost to us, and enter into Christ’s prayer—that God would be glorified in our lives.

PRAYER
LORD, may my highest motivation and desire be that your name would be glorified in every trial and situation I go through. Keep my mind and heart focused on Jesus’ example and committed to what you want to accomplish in my life. Holy Spirit, please give me grace to live wholeheartedly for the glory of God’s name.

INSIGHT
The possibilities of prayer are found in its allying itself with the purposes of God, for God’s purposes and man’s praying are the combination of all potent and omnipotent forces.

MARY, DID YOU KNOW?

Date - December 19th, 2021 Topic - MARY, DID YOU KNOW? Bible Text - But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” - Luke 1:30-31 If God had asked the women of Israel who wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, every one of them would have raised her hand. If they had known what that privilege would actually involve—becoming pregnant before marriage, enduring terrible gossip, watching helplessly as their Son was mocked, ridiculed, tortured and crucified—those hands would have come down in a hurry. Mary certainly didn’t volunteer for the job. And she was stunned to discover she’d been selected for such an important role. She handled the extraordinary situation with grace and humility. She asked one question to help her understand God’s plan, then agreed to it immediately. God has a plan for each of us. Ours may not be as earth-shattering as Mary’s. Ou...

NOW

Date 📅 18th October, 2022 Topic NOW Living Scripture Hebrews 11:1,7 KJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [7] By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. Now we begin to walk in the ways of faith and truth as our fathers in faith and mighty men of old and just as they witnessed the glory of God first hand so shall we if we act now. The perfect example is Noah and the ark, a man of grace and wisdom. The world was stained with disobedience, sinful ways and thick immoralities. And God decided to wipe the inhabitants of the earth with a great flood such as have never been before and even after. The heavens where ready to open the flood gates and the earth to let out her waters. When God spoke to Noah, he acted immediately and finished the ark on time and he eva...

Seed of Faith

DATE 11th April, 2023 TOPIC Seed of Faith LIVING SCRIPTURE Matthew 17:20 KJV And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Building up our faith starts with the process of hearing the Word of God and applying it to life's situations, issues and facets. But many children of God lack the seed that is planted at the place of studying, learning and meditating on God's because of the cares of this world. When you let the cares and worries surrounding you to totally occupy your mind then you'll lose faith and spoil the soil of your mind where faith should be grown.  Jesus taught the multitude on seed faith and how effective it is when we utilize a growing faith. It carries the power that removes mountaineous problems and defeats impossibilities and limitations of life. God wants ...
