Master? Master!

BIBLE TEXT
Now you are free from sin, your old master, and you have become slaves to your new master, righteousness. - Romans 6:18

The word slavery conjures up images of drudgery, menial tasks, and the forfeiture of self. It reminds us of people bent to the will of another, suffering abuse at the hands of those who have complete power over them. Why then would the Apostle Paul describe both sin and righteousness in such terms? Paul knew what it was like to live in bondage to sin. Yet he had also watched as his new master tore off his chains. Sin offered to destroy his purpose. Yet Jesus reached out to him when Paul was blinded and humbled on the road to Damascus and set him on a different path—the path of life and freedom.

Sin enticed Paul with pride and promises of power. Yet Jesus freed him from the confines of his self-made prison to embrace the destiny God intended for him from the beginning. Having served both masters, Paul had learned the secret and couldn’t wait to share it: When we bow at the feet of Jesus, He is the only Master who truly sets us free!

PRAYER
JESUS, I kneel at your feet again today. I ask that you be the master of my heart, of my thoughts, of my ambitions, of my time, of my life. Thank you for being such a gracious, kind, and merciful God. It is in offering my life to you that I find abundant life. It is by serving you that I find true freedom!

INSIGHT
Freedom does not mean I am able to do whatever I want to do. That’s the worst kind of bondage. Freedom means I have been set free to become all that God wants me to be, to achieve all that God wants me to achieve, to enjoy all that God wants me to enjoy.

NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH

Date - December 28th, 2021 Topic - NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH Bible Text - For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 Your parents love you. You may be able to do something that makes them angry, but you will never be able to do anything that makes them stop loving you. Try to imagine this kind of love and then multiply it by infinity. That’s the love that Jesus has for you. That’s the love that God has for you. God made you. He loved you enough to create you. He loved you enough to give you free will. Then he loved you enough to give you his Son. He loved you enough to forgive you for turning away from him. This is an impossible love! This is a love that we may never understand. But we don’t have to understand it. We just have to a...

THE EASY WAY

This world is full of sin and disobedience and selfishness, it has a wide gate welcoming everyone and it's paths are broad to gather much people in order to destroy their lives. Looking for the easy way is looking for death, it is an invitation to false spirits that corrupts and pollutes. Let us seek to know the true path that leads to life and life in...

PECULIAR PEOPLE

Date 📅 31st August, 2022 Topic Peculiar People  Living Scripture 1 Peter 2:9 KJV But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: In the beginning God the Father was and is and is to come for a particular kind of people as He once did with Adam and eve in Eden. He created the heavens and the earth and everything that lives and breathes. And by the power of His Word He made man in His own image and likeness. Therefore man was made right from the beginning to be peculiar and fit for the glory of God. There was no plan in God's holy palm to reduce man to a pauper, it was our sinful ways and disobedience that caused us to fall short of this beautiful inheritance our first father once partook of. A peculiar People stands different, out of the ordinary, unusual and unpredictable from a specific clan or place. The scripture reads t...
