TOPIC
Broken and a Contrite Heart

LIVING SCRIPTURE
Mark 14:3 KJV
And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

The psalmist King David enjoyed the blessings of being broken and open to the LORD. Psalm 51 reads: Psalm 51:17 KJV
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. God seeks men that are broken and willing to walk in purity and holiness. It doesn't matter our former or present state, what's more important is our hearts cry of repentance to God.

The woman in the scripture refused to give up on life, though it seems there was no hope for her anywhere nor was there any man to assist her with the issues of life. The testimonies of Christ Jesus that she heard was sufficient enough to pierce through her heart and she became broken of the most valuable possession she had, which was herself unto the LORD and not just the alabaster box.

Though the ointment was precious and costly in the worldly standard but what is more precious than the human soul! She anointed His head and feet and used her hair, not an expensive towel to wipe His feet. How precious was her surrender and worship at the feet of Jesus Christ. Let us seek Him this morning with a broken and a Contrite Heart such as He will never reject. Jesus Christ is waiting for your soul to be offered to Him so He can beautify your life and destiny.

THINKING GOD’S WAY

JULY 9TH – CAPSULE 9  TOPIC: THINKING GOD’S WAY  BIBLE TEXT: EPHESIANS 4VS23 – Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. How you process information and arrive at conclusions must always be subject to the will of God. Listen, “……….be made new in the attitude of your minds”. When you first start thinking Gods way, it will feel strange to you. It may even feel like a “put-on”. But it’s not. It works like this: you have to  (a). Practice being nice until you automatically become nice.  (b). Practice going to church on Sunday, until going anywhere else seems strange to you.  (c). Practice giving to God until it be comes as natural to you as shopping at the mall.  (d). Practice speaking the truth until even the smallest lie tastes bad in your mouth.  (e). Practice speaking kindness until every cynical, negative word is purged from your vocabulary. Its all a matter of practice! But you ask, “ isn’t that hypocritical – feeling one way and speaking an...

IT RUBS OFF

AUGUST 9th - CAPSULE 9 TOPIC: IT RUBS OFF BIBLE TEXT: Exodus 34 vs. 29 – His face glowed from being in the presence of God. You can only talk convincingly about the God you know, the one you’ve spent time with. Any other God belongs in a theology book, and you will have a hard time selling Him. When Moses came down from the mountain, his face shone. He had been in God’s presence, and when you’ve been there it shows in the way you look, the way you walk and talk, the way you treat your family, the way you spend your money and the way you respond to hurting people. It rubs off!   Paul Cain says “most of us are as close to God as we want to be”. Think about it “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you” (James 4 vs. 8). How could you possibly be the same when you’ve been with Him? He transforms everything He touches. Listen – He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91 vs. 1). He didn’t say “visit” or...

ARE YOU ANXIOUS TODAY?

AUGUST 18th - CAPSULE 18 TOPIC: ARE YOU ANXIOUS TODAY? BIBLE TEXT: Psalm 56 vs. 3 – What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. Anxiety can be likened to a big wave that washes over you and stops you dead in your works. It can paralyze you and take away everything good in your life. If you let it control you, you’ll do nothing, say nothing and end up feeling like nothing. When you think about it, worry in silly! (And dangerous) – It means you are not trusting God to carry out the promises He has made to you. Yes, He’s given responsibilities, and it’s important to take them seriously; but He has commanded you to trust Him – Proverbs 3 vs5. Paul says do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God, and the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and minds. . . . “(Philippians 4 vs. 6 -7 NIV). You are special in the eyes of the Lord. Let that sink in! He loves you and...
