1 Samuel 15:22-23 KJV
And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord ? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. [23] For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.



Disobedience is an expensive currency which can bankrupt a man in the sight of the Most High God. While Obedience is the key into a hassle free breakthrough and advancement in life. Prophet Samuel defined Disobedience as "Rebellion, a sin of witchcraft and the human agent which causes such action in the character of a child of God is stubbornness - an iniquity and idolatry (lustful desires for what is not permitted). King Saul was given an instruction to waste his enemies but he disobeyed and got carried away by his lust and distracted heart. While King David was obedient to the voice of the Lord that he testified - Psalm 18:40-42 KJV
Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me. [41] They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not. [42] Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

God is still calling men today, but out of the many called, very few are chosen - these few are those who obey the voice of the LORD every step of the way. 

Question - How far can you go with the Lord?

King Saul did not disobey prophet Samuel but God Almighty and he lost his throne and kingdom because of repeated disobedience. Likewise today in our local churches, we often disobey God's instructions for our lives thinking it's the pastor. Only those few who truly believes in God's word via His servants that actually prosper. 

Obedience saved Noah from the flood, directed Abraham into an abundant land, delivered the centurion's child, it made Christ Jesus to succeed in life and ministry. It saved Apostle Paul, Peter and many men and woman who were led by the Holy Spirit. To be obedient is to be submissive to God first and let His words be "Yea and Amen" in our life.
2 Corinthians 1:20 KJV
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.


PRAYER 
• LORD I repent for disobeying your voice and your words.
• Heavenly Father I surrender all to you I choose to be free and obedient in life.
• Every stubborn traits, wrong attitude and character I possess within me, hear the Word of God be mortified and blotted out in Jesus name.


INSIGHT
Obedience is better than sacrifice.
