1 Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:




In the beginning God the Father was and is and is to come for a particular kind of people as He once did with Adam and eve in Eden. He created the heavens and the earth and everything that lives and breathes. And by the power of His Word He made man in His own image and likeness. Therefore man was made right from the beginning to be peculiar and fit for the glory of God. There was no plan in God's holy palm to reduce man to a pauper, it was our sinful ways and disobedience that caused us to fall short of this beautiful inheritance our first father once partook of.

A peculiar People stands different, out of the ordinary, unusual and unpredictable from a specific clan or place. The scripture reads to as many as will receive the gift of salvation - John 17:16 KJV They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. We belong to the commonwealth of Heaven. This comes to play in the lives as many as the Spirit of Christ calls the children of God. Christ Jesus died for the world and as many as are willing to be saved by His blood and powerful name shall become partakers of this great family.

Knowing what the scripture reads in 1Peter 2:9 let's desist from our sinful ways which has reduced and eaten away our inheritance in Christ Jesus. God wants to reconcile us this morning back to His Will and loving arms. He calls us peculiar children, because we belong to Him and not of this world. 

Declare - I am a peculiar child of God and I belong to the commonwealth of Heaven in Christ Jesus. Amen!

• Heavenly Father I believe what your words says I am and I receive your word into my heart in Jesus name.
• I am not of this world, I am not ordinary, I am a royal priesthood and I'll show forth the praise of the Living God on this earth in Christ Jesus.
• Thank you Jesus for making it possible for me and my family (your church) to be partakers of this great kingdom.
