Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, [2] As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:



A true Christian is meant to grow just like an infant does; who grows into a child, then a teenager, a youth and a fully grown adult. But to get to all these stages a process occurs which is called Growing Up. The grace of God that covers us as children under our parents is for while, we need to develope ourselves in Christ. We are not meant to remain spiritual infants forever but meant to desire the sincere milk (nourishment filled with spiritual vitamins and minerals) of the Word of God. We are meant to feed on the vitality of what Christ Jesus gives to the church.

Without the express word of God at work in us, deception and all kinds of sins will set in and ruin our lives. To do away with our old man (old ways, habits and spiritual perverseness) we need to grow in the spirit and also physically. God wants His children to grow and develop in every area and aspects of our lives. Satan comes to deceive and lure God's children and those who's hearts foundations are weak, will definitely fall. Even though God's grace is sufficient we must learn to grow up!

Apostle Paul in his teaching to both the church at Ephesus and the body of Christ globally taught that after development we'll be able to escape the deception of Satan's lie: (Ephesians 4:14 KJV
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;) When we desire to grow then growth will begin - Matthew 5:6 KJV
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.


PRAYER CAPSULE
• Heavenly Father, thank you for the availability of your word.
• Oh LORD I want to grow up and develop into what you will for me. 
• I refuse to remain a spiritual infant and I receive Grace to grow up spiritually and physically.

A mango tree starts from a seed planted in the soil, from a mango fruit. It usually takes weeks or sometimes days for the leaves to grow or sprout and then it takes years before it can produce those edible mango fruits which we all like to chew. Likewise a young child cannot start behaving like a grown man or handling responsibilities automatically.
