LIVING SCRIPTURE
Psalm 7:10 KJV
My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

Psalm 73:25 KJV
Whom have I in heaven but thee ? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.



The prayer of King David, acknowledging the LORD as his only defence both in heaven and on earth. King David went through so many battles in his life time, he fought animals like lion and bear; he fought Goliath of gath and destroyed him; he fought kings and kingdoms, thieves and bandits. But in all these, he knew his source of protection, it was not his wisdom or wits, not his mighty men or weapons, his defence remains the LORD Most High.

King David saw God's covering and protection in different ways, as a Rock, a Refuge, a Shield, a Tower, a Strong Tower, a High Tower, as a Wing, as a Feather, each meant to him more in the way and manner God stepped into his case. His trust was in the God of his salvation and he was never disappointed. Some trust in horses and chariots (technology, carnal tools and arsenal, charms) but we will remember the name of the LORD. Fear not brethren, our defender is with us and in us. 

God is more than enough for we His children, let us learn to rely and trust in Him for everything. The armed forces will fail us, the technology and gadgets will disappoint us, charms will fail many but the Mighty One of Jacob has no failed record or break in transmission, He is ever ready and all powerful to defend His own like the Hebrew brothers worshipping in the fire and brother Daniel at peace in the lion's den. Only our God, the Living God can defend us totally.

Trust in the Lord

PRAYER
Heavenly Father thank you for your banner of protection over me and my household and nation.

Heavenly Father I trust in you this morning onwards to be my Defence and to stand for my family.

INSIGHT
The Defender of Jacob, the God of Israel is our LORD.
