LIVING SCRIPTURE
Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.





The practical aim of every race is to bring out a fulfilled goal or an achievable trophy. When a child of God engage in any race or competition physically, it becomes paramount to come out as first and best but such will need quality training and help from the LORD. For a believer who has a winner's mind set, in order to win the physical race or competition, needs the undeserved favor of God that uplifts a man.

The case study this morning brings our focus to Daniel and his friends, (Shadrach, Mishael and Abednego) who were brought to the king's palace in Babylon, where the king desired to have the best counsellors standing at his side. It was a race amongst Babylonian indigenes and the Hebrew brothers and other captives. One thing separated Daniel and his friends from the rest, the leading of the Holy Spirit in their lives and movements and utterance. Indeed the race is not to the swift (those with fast legs or connections) but to as many that obeys the voice of God. Many selected men were well connected to the officials and could easily bribe their way into the number but Daniel and his friends kept focus and refused the king's meat but trust in the LORD.

To win any race in this world we need to put our trust in Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Your skill is not enough, there are many skillful men out there; your strength is not enough, many strong men out there; neither your sensual wisdom or wealth for easy movements amongst ranks, nor Worldly understanding and thoughts but our total dependence on the Spirit of Christ.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father I need your grace to run both my physical and spiritual race here on earth in Jesus name.
