TOPIC: COMPANION

BIBLE TEXT: JOHN 14 VS 17 – Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.


Jesus Christ walk through the earth during His ministry days with His twelve disciples but none of them could fill the position of the Person of the Holy Spirit. Jesus was baptized in the Holy Spirit and went on with His Company until the end. The companion of Christ is the Holy Spirit. He is a friend, a comforter, an instructor, a director, energizer, a motivator and more. One with whom you keep company.

Jesus always conversed with His companion and that is the reason why He made wise decisions and remained holy. As believers, the first companion we need is the Holy Spirit before anyone else. John 14 vs. 17 says …. “For He dwelleth with you” – what a company! A close companion that cares for you and ‘shall be in you’ – He takes control of our Spirit, soul and body. 

When the Holy Spirit accompanies a man, the latter end always comes out glorious. Who are you keeping company with? The bible says ‘evil communications corrupt good manners’. An evil companion will definitely corrupt your mind and stain your spirit. Make the Holy Ghost your best friend today and let Him lead you and walk with you forever.


Prayer: Heavenly Father, I receive the gift of your Spirit in my life. Holy Spirit be my companion.

Insight: His friendship and companionship is forever.

You can only talk convincingly about the God you know, the one you’ve spent time with. Any other God belongs in a theology book, and you will have a hard time selling Him. When Moses came down from the mountain, his face shone. It usually takes weeks or sometimes days for the leaves to grow or sprout and then it takes years before it can produce those edible mango fruits which we all like to chew.
