SEED PLANTERS

Topic - SEED PLANTERS

Bible Text - So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. - 1 Corinthians 3:7

Back in the apostle Paul’s day, the church had problems with people splitting into groups to follow popular teachers. Paul was one of those teachers, and so was Apollos. Christians would take pride in saying, “I follow Paul” or “I follow Apollos.” When Paul heard what they were doing, he put a stop to it immediately (see 1 Corinthians 3:3-13).

He told them that he and Apollos were just messengers. All they did was plant the seeds of the gospel in people’s minds. The Lord is the one who makes them grow, and that’s why he’s the only one people should follow.

If we want to please God in the way we share our faith with others, we need to remember our role. We’re not the ones who lead people to Christ. We’re not the ones who convert people to Christianity. We’re the ones who start conversations about God or our beliefs. We’re the ones who talk to people about our personal experiences with Jesus.

We’re seed planters. What God does with those seeds is up to him. In fact, we may never see what happens to the seeds we plant. But that shouldn’t stop us from planting them. God has given us a role in spreading his Word. We should be grateful for it and do the best we can.

PRAYER
Dear God, thank you for giving us a small part in spreading your Word. We give you all the glory for what happens to the seeds we plant.

INSIGHT
It is a privilege to plant God's Word into the hearts of men.

MARY, DID YOU KNOW?

Date - December 19th, 2021 Topic - MARY, DID YOU KNOW? Bible Text - But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” - Luke 1:30-31 If God had asked the women of Israel who wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, every one of them would have raised her hand. If they had known what that privilege would actually involve—becoming pregnant before marriage, enduring terrible gossip, watching helplessly as their Son was mocked, ridiculed, tortured and crucified—those hands would have come down in a hurry. Mary certainly didn’t volunteer for the job. And she was stunned to discover she’d been selected for such an important role. She handled the extraordinary situation with grace and humility. She asked one question to help her understand God’s plan, then agreed to it immediately. God has a plan for each of us. Ours may not be as earth-shattering as Mary’s. Ou...

I Know Him

Date - January 25th, 2022 Topic - I Know Him Bible Tex t - Then [Jesus] asked them, “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”Matthew 16:15-16 How can people describe the ocean when they have not experienced it? How would they explain the waves that crash against the rocks or the shifting of the sand as the tide tugs at the shoreline? Are they able to put into words how the sand feels between their toes or describe the majesty of an endless blue horizon? Until they have taken a dip in the salty, white-frothed ocean, their descriptions would be limited. Perhaps that is why Jesus asked the disciples to define their faith in him on a personal level rather than rely on what others had to say about him. Jesus challenged them to base their definition of who he was on the reality of what they had seen, heard, and experienced about him.  Today, many stand in public platforms and attempt to define Jesus as a good man, a teach...

THINKING GOD’S WAY

JULY 9TH – CAPSULE 9  TOPIC: THINKING GOD’S WAY  BIBLE TEXT: EPHESIANS 4VS23 – Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. How you process information and arrive at conclusions must always be subject to the will of God. Listen, “……….be made new in the attitude of your minds”. When you first start thinking Gods way, it will feel strange to you. It may even feel like a “put-on”. But it’s not. It works like this: you have to  (a). Practice being nice until you automatically become nice.  (b). Practice going to church on Sunday, until going anywhere else seems strange to you.  (c). Practice giving to God until it be comes as natural to you as shopping at the mall.  (d). Practice speaking the truth until even the smallest lie tastes bad in your mouth.  (e). Practice speaking kindness until every cynical, negative word is purged from your vocabulary. Its all a matter of practice! But you ask, “ isn’t that hypocritical – feeling one way and speaking an...
