TOPIC - THE NEW GUIDE

BIBLE TEXT - “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” - John 16:13

Jesus’ public ministry—the time he was baptized until the time he was crucified—lasted about three years. His disciples were with him for almost all that time. From the very beginning, Jesus made it clear to them that his time on earth was short. Sometimes they seemed to understand; other times they acted quite surprised by the news.

In John 16, we read that Jesus’ time was almost up—and his disciples seemed to realize it. Naturally they were sad about losing their Teacher. They also were feeling a little lost. With Jesus gone, who would lead them? Jesus gave them their answer in verse 13. The Holy Spirit, or “Spirit of truth,” would assist them after Jesus departed.

That was very good news for the disciples — and all followers of Jesus. The Holy Spirit isn’t a flesh-and-blood being like Jesus. We don’t have to vie for his time and attention along with millions of other followers. The Holy Spirit lives in each of us. He is always available to give us the guidance and direction we need.

When we have a question about our faith or when we have a doubt, we can ask the Holy Spirit to help us. What could be more convenient?

PRAYER
Dear God, thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to guide us. Help us listen to his leading and follow his directions. Amen.

INSIGHT
When was the last time you felt God’s leading? Describe what it was like.

MARY, DID YOU KNOW?

Date - December 19th, 2021 Topic - MARY, DID YOU KNOW? Bible Text - But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” - Luke 1:30-31 If God had asked the women of Israel who wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, every one of them would have raised her hand. If they had known what that privilege would actually involve—becoming pregnant before marriage, enduring terrible gossip, watching helplessly as their Son was mocked, ridiculed, tortured and crucified—those hands would have come down in a hurry. Mary certainly didn’t volunteer for the job. And she was stunned to discover she’d been selected for such an important role. She handled the extraordinary situation with grace and humility. She asked one question to help her understand God’s plan, then agreed to it immediately. God has a plan for each of us. Ours may not be as earth-shattering as Mary’s. Ou...

I Know Him

Date - January 25th, 2022 Topic - I Know Him Bible Tex t - Then [Jesus] asked them, “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”Matthew 16:15-16 How can people describe the ocean when they have not experienced it? How would they explain the waves that crash against the rocks or the shifting of the sand as the tide tugs at the shoreline? Are they able to put into words how the sand feels between their toes or describe the majesty of an endless blue horizon? Until they have taken a dip in the salty, white-frothed ocean, their descriptions would be limited. Perhaps that is why Jesus asked the disciples to define their faith in him on a personal level rather than rely on what others had to say about him. Jesus challenged them to base their definition of who he was on the reality of what they had seen, heard, and experienced about him.  Today, many stand in public platforms and attempt to define Jesus as a good man, a teach...

Inside Jesus

DATE 28th June, 2023 TOPIC Inside Jesus LIVING SCRIPTURE John 15:4 KJV Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Inside Jesus Christ the Lamb of God is where we must dwell. Just like a baby is carried in the womb of her mother for months, so must all God's children follow. The anchor scripture reveals that we must abide inside the cleft or riven side of Jesus Christ just as He also dwells inside us. No child of God or minister should ever think that he or she is sufficient or has attained a certain height in Christ Jesus to stand alone or even abide by themselves.  Our productivity of bearing fruits in this world either by evangelism, good deeds, love or any action can only be possible when we are intimate with Christ as He is with us. Without Christ Jesus inside us we cannot or it is impossible to grow spiritually and physically. Inside Christ Jesus contains all life's resources and...
