TOPIC: ENTICEMENTS

BIBLE TEXT: But man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed - James 1:14

As a believer, have you thought on the ways and mode of operation of the devil and his demonic spirits? Apostle Paul speaks in the Spirit “for we are not ignorant of his devices” – 2 Corinthians 2 vs. 11. Enticement is a major device of the devil against the body of Christ, this manipulative tool was used right from the creation of the first man and woman (Adam and Eve) on earth. Eve was enticed by the devil and he got access into the mental realm. 

Samson the great judge of Israel with glorious strength and might was enticed and his journey was cut short. King Solomon was enticed also through his love for women and his heart was turned against God and he started worshipping idols, Herod was enticed by Herodias, the wife of his late brother and he was manipulated and touched God’s anointed, John the Baptist. 
Many men and women today fall under this tool of darkness. Proverbs 7 describes how warm and sweet enticement introduces herself, so she can kill and strike the heart (The Spirit man).

Jesus Christ was enticed by the devil in Luke 4 vs. 1 – 13, but He overcame through the Word of God, Joseph the son of Jacob was enticed by Mrs. Potiphar, but he overcame through the Word of God in his heart. You can overcome the devil when he entices you with your lustful desires by this method King David revealed:
“Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee? – Psalm 119 vs. 11”


Prayer: Lord Jesus, I need the grace to study your Word and live by it, to overcome the devices of the devil in Jesus name, Amen.

Insight: Yes! Even as a spirit-filled believer you can be enticed but the victory is in the word of God as you act on what it says.

I Know Him

AUGUST 9th - CAPSULE 9 TOPIC: IT RUBS OFF BIBLE TEXT: Exodus 34 vs. 29 – His face glowed from being in the presence of God. You can only talk convincingly about the God you know, the one you’ve spent time with. Any other God belongs in a theology book, and you will have a hard time selling Him. When Moses came down from the mountain, his face shone. He had been in God’s presence, and when you’ve been there it shows in the way you look, the way you walk and talk, the way you treat your family, the way you spend your money and the way you respond to hurting people.
