JULY 1ST – CAPSULE 1
TOPIC: WHO ARE YOU LIVING FOR?
BIBLE TEXT: 2 Corinthians 5 vs 15 (NIV) – Those who live should live no longer for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.
The fire on the altar of incense was lit from the fire on the altar of sacrifice. It takes sacrifice to pray. We must give up our self-life. The Lord is not after a few minutes of our day – He wants our every thought taken captive and brought into obedience to Him.
The apostle Paul is one of the great examples. He died to self daily. He did all things for the sake of the gospel. He sacrificed his own will, safety and comfort to serve the Lord and His people. Paul's great effectiveness in ministry can be directly tied to the degree to which he laid down his life for the purposes of God.
Are you willing to do that today?
There is power in sacrifice. The cross was the ultimate sacrifice and it is the ultimate power. The degree to which you will take up your cross daily, will be the degree to which you experience the power of God in your daily life. The priesthood is about intercession, and intercession is not prayer for yourself, but for others.
Prayer: Lord, help me to live for others, that I may live for thee.
