LISTENING PRAYER

AUGUST 24th - CAPSULE 24

TOPIC: LISTENING PRAYER

BIBLE TEXT: Psalm 46 vs. 10 – Be still and know that I am God.

Jesus did a lot of praying. On more than one occasion He prayed all night, yet few of His words were recorded. Could it be that HE did more listening than talking? And when His prayer was recorded, what was it? “Father . . . . . . Not my will, but thine be done” (Luke 22 vs. 42).

When Jesus prayed HE surrendered totally to the will of God. He believe He would automatically be given two things for which we all keep asking direction and ability to deal with things. Thank God for the revelation of who we are in Christ, and our authority as believers before God and before men. But recently God has been letting me know that there’s more to prayer than coming “boldly unto the throne” (Hebrews 4 vs. 16).

That kind of prayer is about what you want, but this kind is about what He wants. Now, since He sees the whole picture clearly, and since He designed the plan to begin with, don’t you think it’s time to get quiet before Him, so that HE can tell you all about it?

Prayer: Father Lord, help me to know how to pray and what to pray.

Lord, I want to listen well at the place of prayer, give me the grace.

In the order of Jesus Christ our Lord, I surrender all to your will Father for direction and ability to deal with issues of life.

Insight: BE still and let God be God in your life.

Capsule One - (WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY?)

May 1st – Capsule 1 TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY? BIBLE TEXT: Let us lay aside every weight and sin which easily beset us … Hebrews 12 vs. 1 You will start getting well when getting well is what matters most to you. Let your desperation drive you beyond concern about the opinions of others. As long as you are more conscious of people than you are of God, you will never get what you need. When Hannah, Samuel’s mother, prayed in the temple, there was so much locked inside her that when she began to pray and pour her heart out, Eli thought she was drunk (see 1 Samuel 1 vs. 13). God is raising up people who will confound us – radical Christians. Like those on the day of Pentecost, they were hungry for God. They will raise the roof to get to Jesus. They had carefully laid plans, and cry like blind Bartimaeus, “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10 vs. 47). When you are blind, all that matters is receiving your sight. When it looks like there’s no way out fo...

DO TI NOW

May 11th – Capsule 11 TOPIC : DO IT NOW BIBLE TEXT : Redeeming the time, because the days are evil – Ephesians 5 vs. 16 How many times have you said, “I will do it tomorrow?” sometimes you put somethings off because you don’t think you know enough, can’t do it well enough. The fact is, there is no magic age at which excellence emerges and quality suddenly surfaces. Thomas Jefferson was 33 when he drafted the Declaration of Independence. Charles Dickens was 24 when he began his Pickwick Papers, and 25 when he wrote Oliver Twist. Newton was 24 when he formulated The Law of Gravity. A second danger is to think that creativity and invention belong to the young. Not so! Emmanuel Kant wrote his finest philosophical work at age 74. Verdi at 80 produced crossing the Bar, and Michelangelo completed his greatest work at 87, Moses was 80 when he led God’s people out of Egypt and 120 when he got to Canaan. Seize the day! Redeem the new moments of your life. Because the time and age ...

Sinner to Saint

Date 📅 20th October, 2022 Topic Sinner to Saint Living Scripture Romans 3:23 KJV For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; The journey of our convertion and transfiguration started when we decided to let go of our self and old ways and tune into the will of God by accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. Our Lord Jesus Christ is in the business of turning sinners to saints. Because of the fall of man from the beginning it was written that all mankind have sinned and come short of the supply of God's mighty glory. Which is why Christ Jesus died that we might be heirs and like heirs with Him in the kingdom of God. Without Jesus no one can be saved, all men without the knowledge and salvation of Christ are sinners. No man was born a saint, we are washed from stains, sins and disobedience into saints (children of God). The Bible is not full of men born as saints but rather men and women washed by the Blood of the Lamb of God and by the Word of God. Father Abrah...
