TOPIC - Golden Promises

BIBLE TEXT - [Jesus told them,] “Now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” - Luke 24:49

Before Jesus sent out the disciples to take the message of the gospel to all the nations, he assured them of his promise to send the Holy Spirit. That promise motivated them to continue with one accord in prayer (Acts 1:14). God’s promises are provided to stir us and inspire us to pray. Those precious promises—there are hundreds throughout the Bible—show us things God has purposed and wants us to ask for, just as he wanted the disciples to ask for the Holy Spirit so they would have power for ministry.

These golden promises teach us about how to pray, and they build our faith. “If I am to have faith when I pray,” said American evangelist R. A. Torrey, “I must find some promise in the Word of God on which to rest my faith. . . . If there is no promise in the Word of God, and no clear leading of the Spirit, there can be no real faith.” Today, ask the Lord which of his promises he wants you to pray about. The Holy Spirit will fill you with power from on high to accomplish what needs to be done.

PRAYER
THANK YOU, FATHER, for the promises in your word. May they be incentives for me to continue in prayer so that your will may be accomplished and your kingdom will come in my life, family, nation, and world. Holy Spirit, thank you for dwelling within me and for filling me with your power. Let my prayers be pleasing to you, Father, as your Spirit leads me in praying in light of your promises.

INSIGHT
Though the Bible be crowded with golden promises from board to board, yet they will be inoperative until we turn them into prayer.

Capsule One - (WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY?)

May 1st – Capsule 1 TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU WANT SO BADLY? BIBLE TEXT: Let us lay aside every weight and sin which easily beset us … Hebrews 12 vs. 1 You will start getting well when getting well is what matters most to you. Let your desperation drive you beyond concern about the opinions of others. As long as you are more conscious of people than you are of God, you will never get what you need. When Hannah, Samuel’s mother, prayed in the temple, there was so much locked inside her that when she began to pray and pour her heart out, Eli thought she was drunk (see 1 Samuel 1 vs. 13). God is raising up people who will confound us – radical Christians. Like those on the day of Pentecost, they were hungry for God. They will raise the roof to get to Jesus. They had carefully laid plans, and cry like blind Bartimaeus, “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10 vs. 47). When you are blind, all that matters is receiving your sight. When it looks like there’s no way out fo...

FELLOWSHIP

Date 📅 24th November, 2022 Topic Fellowship (koinonia) Living Scripture Matthew 18:20 KJV For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Wherever believers are gathered in the name of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, there the Lord comes to fellowship. In heaven the celestials cease not to give due worship to God and the LAMB of God, it's a constant tradition of divine communion and fellowship. It is not every gathering that men calls Jesus Christ that he attends, the scripture states that these candidates for fellowship must be in the name of Jesus Christ. They must be saved to even think of gathering for the purpose of intimacy and fellowship. Two thieves were hung up on the cross with the person of Christ, but only one that repented and believed in the Kingdom of Heaven and Christ, that received attention from Jesus. To gather in fellowship with the Lord as a family this morning, we must all be in Him. Our devotion will not be c...

No Weakness In Heaven

Date 📅 14th October, 2022 Topic No Weakness In Heaven Living Scripture Matthew 5:48 KJV Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Heaven is a place to dream about, a place where our Heavenly Father dwells. It is not the skies we see or the galaxy of wide space we watch on the satellite and internet. The Bible records that Heaven is God's throne, a place where there are innumerable hosts of angels serving the LORD. There's no weakness in God's presence, for His glory and power radiates through the whole existence. Every biblical angel as described are very powerful and well coordinated. So is everyone born of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ came from Heaven and taught us what Heaven is like. And all the illustrations given in the four gospel of Christ were full of maturity and perfection. God wants us to be like Him that's why we are made in His image and glory though resident here on earth but of the commonwealth of Heaven. Wit...
